What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember your actions and preferences over time: keeping you signed in, remembering that you dismissed a notice, or telling us which pages are useful. We also use similar technologies such as local storage; this policy covers them all when we say “cookies”.
Consent and our banner
On your first visit we show a consent banner managed by CookieYes. Non-essential cookies stay switched off until you accept them, and whatever you choose is recorded so we don't ask again on every page. You can reopen the banner and change your choice at any time; see Managing your preferences.
Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Needs consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Core functionality: session authentication, security (CSRF protection), load balancing. The site cannot work without them. | No |
| Functional | Remember non-essential choices, such as your cookie preferences themselves. | Yes |
| Analytics | Aggregate statistics about which pages are visited and how features are used, via Google Analytics. | Yes |
| Advertisement | Reserved for measuring ad campaigns if we run them. Currently unused. | Yes |
Cookies on this site
The main cookies you may encounter:
| Cookie | Set by | Category | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
emails_checker_session |
Emails Checker | Necessary | Keeps you signed in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Emails Checker | Necessary | Security token paired with the session for form submissions. |
cky-* |
CookieYes | Functional | Stores your consent choices so the banner does not reappear unnecessarily. |
_ga, _ga_* |
Google Analytics | Analytics | Distinguishes visitors (anonymised) and aggregates usage statistics. Set only after analytics consent. |
_gid |
Google Analytics | Analytics | Short-lived visitor differentiation for daily statistics. Set only after analytics consent. |
Because browsers and integrations evolve, this list may not capture every cookie at every moment; the live detail is available through the “See details” link in the consent banner.
Third-party cookies
We load Google Tag Manager as the container for our analytics tags. Tags only fire according to your consent choices, and Google receives data under Google's own privacy terms, which you can review in Google's Privacy Policy. We do not embed advertising networks or social-media tracking pixels.
Managing your preferences
- Change your consent: click the cookie icon in the corner of any page, or clear the
cky-*cookies to see the banner again. - Browser controls: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and form submission.
- Do Not Track: our analytics are consent-gated already, so we treat DNT signals as covered by that gating rather than applying separate behaviour.
Changes to this policy
If we add new cookie categories or providers, we will update this policy and refresh the consent banner so you can make a fresh choice. The date above reflects the current version.
